This Privacy Policy explains what information ViewportKit collects, how it is used, and how you can contact us about privacy questions.
Information We Process
We process account information, usage data, and screenshot-related metadata required to provide the service and enforce security and usage limits.
Browser Extension Data
When you start a capture from your active browser tab, the ViewportKit extension captures that page and sends the screenshot to your authenticated ViewportKit account for review, project organization, export, comparison, retry, or preview. It associates the capture with the page URL and project or capture metadata so you can identify and revisit it.
The extension stores authentication and session state, selected capture preferences, active capture state, and recently completed capture state in browser extension storage. Authentication tokens are used to keep you signed in and authorize ViewportKit API requests over HTTPS.
The extension reads the active tab only after a user-started capture or preview action. Its debugger session is used during a user-started capture and then detached; packaged preview code is injected only when you open a capture preview. Its host permission is limited to the ViewportKit backend API origin.
Extension data is used only to provide capture, upload, account, project, preview, export, retry, and comparison features. The extension does not collect browsing history in the background, sell extension data, use it for personalized advertising or unrelated profiling, or fetch or execute remote code.
This section describes current extension behavior and supplements this policy; it does not replace legal or privacy-owner review.
How We Use Information
Information is used to operate the product, maintain service reliability, prevent abuse, and support users.
Optional product analytics are activated only after you allow them. They help us measure sign-up, capture, export, and checkout flows; they are not needed to use the service.
Support Reports and Email Delivery
Support reports can include the report title, message, type, source, account identifier, and submission time. We store those reports to investigate requests, resolve product issues, and protect the service from abuse.
When support-report email notifications are enabled, we use Brevo as a transactional email processor to send the report content to our fixed support inbox. Brevo is used only to deliver that operator notification; it is not used to market to the person who submitted the report or to select a recipient.
Retention and Storage
Screenshot bytes, signed-storage metadata, capture history, and account records are retained while they are needed to provide your projects, history, billing, and abuse protections. Retention can also include operational backups and security logs; exact cleanup timing depends on the storage lifecycle and is not represented as immediate deletion. You can delete project screenshots through the product where that control is available.
Support reports are retained while needed to respond to or review the report and to secure the service. When a notification is delivered through Brevo, a delivery copy may also be retained under Brevo's operational retention and backup practices.
Exports and Deletion Requests
Downloads and exports are user-initiated; copies saved outside ViewportKit are controlled by the recipient. Contact the privacy team to request access, an export, correction, or deletion review. Full account-deletion orchestration is currently blocked pending a safe cancellation, retention, backup, and billing policy; we do not claim that signing out immediately erases all account data.

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account and project data from unauthorized access.
